Despite their killer instincts, a misfit teenager and a young fox fall in love. Torn apart by their complicated families and an ever-oppressive society, everything from morals to destiny is tested in this whirlwind romance. Comedic and scarily relatable, First Love is the Revolution is a zany portrait of finding shelter in others when chaos surrounds you.
Scratch That - Work In Progress
29 JUN 2025
Mamma Chen’s
Scratch That is a fun, relaxed afternoon where artists share bold, original works-in-progress across theatre, music, comedy and sketch. Hosted at Mamma Chen’s in Footscray, the event provides a supportive stage for artists to test out new material, perform in front of an audience, and gain constructive feedback via online forms. With drinks at the bar, casual chats, and a welcoming atmosphere, it’s all about celebrating creativity, connecting with community, and supporting the next wave of talent.
Yarraville Festival
23 MAR 2025
Wit Inc was delighted to have a stall at the Yarraville Festival, celebrating creativity right in the heart of our community. The day was a wonderful opportunity to share our work, introduce new audiences to Wit Kids and our productions, and connect with locals who are passionate about the arts. Being part of such a vibrant festival reminded us of the power of community events to bring people together, spark new conversations, and inspire future creativity.
Community Program
Wit Kids Drama program
In 2024/2025, Wit Kids continued to thrive as a creative hub for young people, offering weekly drama classes that encouraged confidence, imagination, and collaboration. Across the year, children explored theatre-making through games, improvisation, and storytelling, building skills in performance while developing their own original ideas. The program culminated in end-of-term sharings and performances, where families and friends were invited to celebrate the creativity and growth of the young participants. Wit Kids remained an accessible, supportive space where children could express themselves, try new things, and experience the joy of theatre in community.
Sector Strengthening
Sundays With Wit
In 2024/2025, our Sundays with Wit program continued to bring artists and audiences together for conversation, learning, and creative exchange. We hosted a series of informal gatherings featuring workshops, artist talks, and sharings that offered both emerging and established creatives a supportive space to connect and grow. The program provided opportunities for skills development, networking, and idea-sharing, while strengthening our ties across the artistic community in Melbourne’s west.
